Completed projects
The second edition of our Talhoffer Messer & Buckler Drill Book has just gone to print. In order to publish, we had to replace the translation we used in the first edition to an inferior version. The good translation is still on Wikipedia.
There are only nine Talhoffer plays total, so we used the extra room to cram it full of stuff that’s useful to beginners. If you just want the historic plays, you should download the PDF version.
Recently we announced the completion of our Meyer Polearms 1 Drill Book: Half-Staff as a free PDF. It is now available in print as well.
New Research
We just dropped the first preview of our Meyer Rapier 2 Drill Book. This includes the 25 plays from Gerade Versatzung (Straight Parrying). The intention for this drill book is to eventually include all of Meyer Rapier Part 2.
Another preview is the Marozzo Greatsword Drill Book. We’ve been through the third assault several times, so we just need to record our findings in print. (You can find our videos from the first time through the stretta on YouTube.)
At the same time we’re doing that, we’ll also be working through the much more complicated first assault. (And we’re happy to say that we think we finally have a handle on it after many false starts over the years.)
Concidentally, we also just started our Meyer Halberd Drill Book. We lost our old halberd instructor to the whims of full-time employment, so we’re starting over.
Finally, we have an update to Stuck im Aufstreichen Drill Book: Longsword Plays with the Sweep. Though it isn’t a long text, this project is moving the slowest because it happens at the end of the day when a lot of people are too tired to push through with another hour of training.
